Caulder Family Christmas 2006

This was our first Christmas as a family of 5, and what a GREAT Christmas it was! I'm actually kind of sad to see it go, yet relieved that the pressure is off. I've made up my mind that I will start my Christmas shopping early this year, like January early. I started shopping in October to avoid the last minute rush, and I was still out on Christmas Eve. I don't get a chance often to go out shopping, so I will probably do most of it online. Anyway enough about that. We hope that you all had a great Christmas. The boys were so excited to see what Santa brought. Even Jordan was peeping around the corner of the hall to see what was there, when I got him out of bed. They all three had big smiles on their faces all morning. Their only problem was trying to figure out what to play with next. My problem is where to put all of the toys? They have so many toys that we are having to keep them in the living room. I took a lot of pictures, and they turned out so well. The one thing that I don't have a picture of is Dylan's basketball goal, because, of course it was outside. Their are no pictures of me, as it was first thing in the morning and I have a strict no picture before the shower policy. I will try to remember to post the pictures of our gifts. I got a necklace from Dylan and earrings from Nathan and Jordan. Dray got me a gift card to my favorite store, Barnes and Noble! Dylan also got me a glass nick knack that says I Love Mom from school. Dray got a pair of New Balance tennis shoes and pair of Timberland boots from me. Dylan got him a #1 Dad "Cars" coffee cup from school and all three of the boys got him 4 Larry the Cable Guy coffee cups.

Barnes and Noble Gift Card- $40.00
Set of 4 Larry the Cable Guys Coffee Mugs- $13.00
Seeing the joy in our little boys' eyes on Christmas morning- Priceless!

1st Annual Hammett Christmas Gathering

Saturday night we had the 1st annual Hammett Christmas gathering. I say first because this is the first one in which we ALL have got together. Well, almost all of us. This is the first time I have hosted an event like this. I loved having everyone here for Christmas. There were gifts all around the tree. We had one little path through the living room. We all had so much fun. Here are some pictures from our night.

Way Better Than Picasso!

I just LOVE my children's artwork!!! Dylan brought his Gingerbread Man home from school today and Nathan made his glitter candy cane at therapy. He got to play in the glue & glitter. He had so much fun! Notice the white stripes on the gingerbread man's hands and foot, there is one missing. Dylan told us that he put a stripe for each brother and one for his sister. I have always told Dylan about his sister Katelyn, and he always includes her. He will tell you, "I have two brothers and a sister." I believe they would have been so close.

3 P's....Project, Pajamas & Party!!!

Dylan and I worked on his "time line" project Sunday night. I think I worked a little harder than he did. But it was fun. I love looking back at his pictures. He had a project similar to this last year. We were able to change it up a little though.

Today was PJ day for the 2ND graders at Oakland. They watched The Polar Express and drank hot chocolate. Dylan was so excited this morning!

Tomorrow is Dylan's class Christmas Party!!! And the last day of school this year! On top of that, it's only a half day! This is one of the party bags Dylan and I made for his class. They're complete with A Pencil, Candy Cane, a Christmas Gummy, 3 Hershey Candy Cane Kisses, 1 Hershey Chocolate Bell and a Holiday Mini Snickers!

A Token Of Our Appreciation

This year I wanted to get Cindy, Stacey & Laura something special for Christmas. So I did some searching online and found the perfect gifts! These three women are a blessing to Nathan and us. Nathan would not have made the progress that he has if it wasn't for them. They have grown close to our hearts in the 2 years 4 months that we have known them. They aren't "just" therapist; they truly care about Nathan and our whole family. I thank God for blessing Nathan with these special women!

Christmas Parade

Dray and I took Dylan and Nathan to the Spartanburg Christmas Parade Tuesday. Momma sat with Jordan at our house while we went. The kids had a great time. Dylan was ready to go before it was over. You could tell he was tired. And he was freezing. Luckily it was almost over when he got to the point that he was ready to go. Nathan loved the bands. He would clap when they would go by. Most of the time he was watching the little boy standing beside us. He would look at some of the floats but the thing he liked best was the big cow. This was the first time either of them have been the the Spartanburg Parade. We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to next year, when we can take Jordan too.

Learning New Things

What a look!

Tongue Exercises

This is the first time Nathan has held his bottle with one hand! Also, he is now picking his bottle up and getting it to his mouth!

I got a letter today from Cindy, Nathan's physical therapist, one of his long term (12 month) goals is to be taking 5 to 7 steps independently. Wouldn't that be GREAT!

Bath Time Fun

Last weekend was only the second time the babies have had a bath together. And this was the first time they got to sit and play for a while. They had so much fun! Nathan loved it when Dray would wet the wash cloth with cold water so he could squeeze the water into his mouth.

To Make You Smile

Nathan standing up.

Isn't he just precious

Jordan has a habit of holding things in his mouth now.

Slow Going

Nathan had an appointment with the feeding doctor yesterday. He still weighs 24.8. I don't see why he hasn't gained weight because for the most part he is eating real well. She now wants him to have two Carnation Instant Breakfast juices along with one Resource a day. We will see how that goes. He has, however, grown taller. He is 2' 11" now!

Taking My First Steps

Jordan took two steps Wednesday! He let go of me to go to Dray. He isn't quite ready to walk around the house, but I feel sure it won't be long. I got this picture of him standing alone when Dray and I were working with him. You can see the redness on his chest where we had been taking turns letting him walk to us.

Dylan's picture with Santa

I am posting this picture for those of you who didn't get to see it while it was picture of the week.

Letter's From Santa

The boys recieved a letter from Santa Monday. Dylan was very excited! He read his, then read Nathan's. I read Jordan's. After he read Nathan's he came up to me and said Momma! Rudolph is REAL!!! Then he worte Santa a letter that reads:

Dear Santa,

Wake me up in the middle of the night so I can see Rudolph please.

Seeing his face when he got his letter and as he was reading it, warmed my heart. Here is a copy of their letters.
